Ford has officially unveiled the 2013 Mondeo, ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

Originally previewed in January, the model was developed under the "One Ford" strategy so it is virtually identical to the US-spec Fusion. However, the European variant will be offered in a variety of body styles including a sedan, hatchback and wagon.

The interior carries over from the Fusion, but that's not a bad thing since it features high quality materials and a modern design. Notable options include MyFord Touch, SYNC, a panoramic glass roof, inflatable rear seatbelts and a WiFi hotspot that supports up to five devices.

Under the hood, a variety of engines will be available. Detailed specifications haven't been released, but choices are slated to include:

  • A 1.0-liter EcoBoost with 125 PS (91 kW / 123 hp) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft) of torque - 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) with overboost
  • A hybrid variant with a 2.0-liter petrol engine and a 35kW lithium-ion battery
  • An undisclosed diesel engine which can be paired to an all-wheel drive system
