The 2013 Skoda Octavia has been spied virtually undisguised.

Looking instantly recognizable, the model has an evolutionary design which is heavily influenced by the Rapid. Notable highlights include a larger grille, a sloping roofline and a prominent character line that runs from the headlights to the taillights.

As we have previously reported, the Octavia will ride on the MQB platform that currently underpins the Audi A3, Seat Leon and Volkswagen Golf. The change will enable the model to be lighter than its predecessor, despite being approximately 250mm longer.

Engine options will likely be borrowed from the Golf, so choices could include a 1.2-liter TSI with 105 HP (77 kW), a 1.4-liter TSI with 140 HP (103 kW), a 1.6-liter TDI with 105 HP (77 kW) and a 2.0-liter TDI with 150 HP (110 kW).

The Octavia will be unveiled in November, ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
